as of now can sprint phones work on verizon?

I need an htc diamond or touch pro but verizon butchered its pro and made it to expensive. is there any way to use an htc thouch pro or diamond on verizon. Are there any European cdma carries that would work (unlocked of course). If not does anyone know when or if verizon will get the alltel htc lineup?

Ignore "Mommy of 2" - both Sprint and Verizon use the same frequency (CDMA) so in theory it would work if you were to get an unlocked CDMA phone. I had heard a while ago that Verizon was going to open it's network up and allow non-Verizon CDMA phones to be used on their network, but I haven't heard anything about that in a while. As far as when they'll be getting the Alltel phones, my guess would be that all current Alltel phones will be phased out and you will be left with just the Verizon ones.
