Homebrew on wii 4.3u help!!?
I have a nintendo wii version 4.3u and i've heard that you need to use one of two games, Lego indiana jones ( i dont have ) or super smash bros brawl. ( i have )... i heard u have to delete your game saves and start a new one, delete the 3 custom stages and u have to copy one to your SD card, BUT I don't have an SD card! I have an SDHC Card i bought from target and the package clearly had a NINTENDO WII on is. its called Lexar gaming 4gb SDHC card. it shows up on my wii menu but not on the game where you can copy saves and such to it. is it that super smash bros brawl doesn't allow SDHC use? i can't get a hold of another SD card so is there anyway AT ALL for me to get homebrew on my wii? if u suggest downgrading i want to make sure its 100% Safe and will not brick my wii what so ever. Thank you.
I regret to inform you that Super Smash Bros. Brawl was released BEFORE Wii Menu 4.0, when SDHC cards were supported.
As a result, the game WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE the card. You'll need to pick up a 2 GB SD card (that's the largest supported by the standard SD format) to get the Homebrew installation to work. This will cost you around $10 for the card.
I know this is an annoying & frustrating fact, as other games made before Wii Menu 4.0 suffer the same issue with SD/HC formats... There's not much that can be done since Nintendo doesn't release game patches for Wii games (WiiWare is another story). All you can do is acknowledge this issue & work with it.
If you're thinking about downgrading... DON'T!!! DOWNGRADING YOUR WII IS THE FASTEST & EASIEST WAY TO BRICK YOUR WII WITHOUT ANY FORM OF RECOVERY!!!
Just pick up a 2 GB SD card (you'll find them wherever SD cards are sold) & you should be set for your homebrew installation.
